The first sale of the year in Ck-On-Shannon was held on Saturday 6th February with 70 bulls on offer. Irish Angus Perpetual Cup for the Irish Angus Champion bull & Supreme champion of the sale went to Francis & Noel Fitzpatrick Milltown, Belturbet, Co Cavan with Ernehill Eric sired by Coneyisland Legend and out of a Mushroom Friar Fergus Dam, this bull sold for €4000. The Moroney Perpetual Silver Cup went to John Farrell, Mountdillon, Curraghroe Roscommon for the best pair of Angus Bulls with Coneyisland Legend son Dillon Edward selling for €2700
Top price of the day of €4100 went to Liam Foley Clonbroney, Ballinalee, Co. Longford for his May 2008 and first prize winning bull Clonbroney Enda sired by Aynho Rossiter while sons of Drumcrow Antartic made €3700 & €2250, with a son of Coldstream Genetic Trend selling for €3600 and Cashelane Bart, Roose Ulah and Nakkeg Nord sons selling for €2600, €2100 & €2000 respectively.

March Sale Ck-On-Shannon had 44 bulls on offer with Reserve Champion going to Nuala Mulligan, Hollygrove,Ballygar Co. Galway with lot number 41 Ballydacker Finian sired by Nakkeg Nord.
Champion Heifer went to Peter & Mary Casey,Lisnalurg, Sligo, with Colcagh Estella lot number 53 also sired by Nakkeg Nord. Reserve Champion heifer went to John & Ann McDermott, Skreen, Sligo with lot number 51 Doonowney Edith sired by Drumboy Brian. Champion & reserve remained unsold.
Lot Number 36 Kerins Earl, bred by Bernard Kerins, Ballymote, Sligo sold for €1600 with lot number 22 Achonry Eagle bred by Patrick Henry,Tubbercurry Sligo selling for €1400 with sons of Idvies Paris, Nakkeg Nord and Breaffy Prince Patrick selling for €1550,€1480 and €1350 respectively.

The first sale of the year in Kilkenny was held on March 24th with 78 bulls catalogued. Judge on the day was Derek Lovell from the Knockbrown Herd in Cork. Champion went to Michael & Oliver Flanagan, Moydrum, Athlone Co. Westmeath with Moydrum Eco Star sired by Cardona Black Star, and sold for €1900 .
Reserve champion went to Eamonn McKiernan, Newtown, Monasterboice, Drogheda, Co. Louth with Knockmountagh Enda sired by Nakkeg Nord and sold for €2350.
Top price of the day went to Eamon McKiernan's Knockmountagh Eddie and sold for €2600 sired by Jerusalem Faraday C071.

This sale had 80 bulls on offer with judge Des Martin choosing Cloghanshill Emperor sired by Nakkeg Nord as Champion, bred by Padraic Quinn, Cloghans Hill, Tuam, Co. Galway. This bull sold for €2900.
Lot number 28 Aughnamona Everest, bred by Geraldine Shanley & Donal Spring and sired by Reich Poker 13P sold for €2500. Lisnanean Frank bred by Benny Mulrennan, Elphin Co. Roscommon and sired by Coneyisland Legend sold for €2000 .
Lot 26 Ernehill Star also sired by Coneyisland Legend sold for €1750, bred by Francis & Noel Fitzpatrick, Milltown, Belturbet, Co. Cavan .
Lot number 64 Ballyshannon Falstaff bred by JW Morrow and sired by Lawsonsford Bagatelle sold for €1700 . Logboy Fergal sired by Coneyisland Legend sold for €1580, bred by Liam Mahon, Teevnacreeva, Castlerea, Roscommon.
Reserve Champion Heifer was exhibited by Noel Dowd, Loughglass, Roscommon and sold for €2000, sired by Nakkeg Nord . John and Ann McDermott's heifer sired by Drumboy Brian sold for €1950, with Peter & Mary Casey's Colgagh Estella , sired by Nakkeg Nord selling for €1420.
